Independent Living Services
Preparing Youth to Live Independently
The Independent Living program is a two-phase program in Baltimore County that prepares youth ages 16-21 to live independently in their own community, find and keep a job, enhance their educational skills and address behavioral and emotional challenges that could hinder future success.
In the first phase, young adults live in the home of a Mentor (licensed foster home) who provides support and supervision as the youth gains independent living skills.
During the second phase, these young adults transition to a supervised apartment with the continued support of the treatment team until total independence is achieved.
